One of the most common health problems found in cats is infection by intestinal worms. These worms represent a real health hazard to both their feline hosts and to humans.
Tapeworms infect some 30% of the adult cat population while roundworms are even more common, especially in young growing kittens.
Roundworms: are common to almost all animal and bird species on earth and the occasional bird or mouse caught by a cat is the most common source of infection.
(Many kittens can be born with their own well-developed worm burden)
Tapeworms: have as part of their lifecycle the common flea. A flea ingested by a cat during grooming is generally the cause of infestation by this parasite.
These include lacklustre coat, constant hunger, restlessness, bad tempered, or a pot bellied appearance.
Regular worming protects cats and Humans.
We recommend the following worming programme:
| Kittens at 3 weeks of age |
Anthel Kitten Wormer |
| Kittens at 6 weeks of age |
Anthel Kitten Wormer |
| Kittens at weaning time |
Anthel Kitten Wormer |
| Kittens at 12 weeks of age |

Cats at 6 months
|
Anthel plus Cat Wormer |
| Cats at 10 months |
Anthel plus Cat Wormer |
Cats thereafter should be treated with ANTHEL plus Cat Wormer every 4 months. It is particularly important to treat your cat during pregnancy to ensure kittens have a worm-free start to life.
When treating your cat you may find it difficult to estimate his/her weight, particularly if they won’t stay still on the bathroom scales. Here is a guide to reasonably accurately estimate a normal cat’s weight. (Birth weight of most breeds is about 100 grams, Siamese and some lighter breeds approx 60 grams)

What do cats like to eat ? In one word MEAT. The naturally preferred diet would be one RAT, or better still a couple of FIELD MICE per day. These are the perfect sustenance for a cat, 70% moisture, 15% protein, 10% fat, 1% carbohydrate, plus all the necessary vitamins and minerals. Unfortunately for the cat, but fortunately for the owner, rats and mice are not readily available, and he/she must eat what the owner provides. Try to feed you cat all sorts of meat, the more variety the better.
A healthy cat requires approximately 200 grams of moist wet meats, or 1 small can of pet food, or 70 grams of dry food to provide sufficient calories, along with sufficient clean water.

- The ancient Egyptians thought so much of their cats that each one of them received a full formal funeral when they died.
- It is not true that cats can see in the dark. However they do have eyes infinitely superior to those of humans. Cats can utilize every single ray of light in the night, and provided there is some light ( total darkness is very rare) they can see.
- Cats have exceptional well-developed hearing. They are tuned to pick up tiny noises; in fact cats can hear noises two whole octaves higher than humans.
- Due to a genetic failure, some white cats are sometimes born totally deaf. Those cats tend to develop eyesight that is even more superior to that of normal cats.
- Cats have several methods of marking thir home, their property or their favourite people. When they rub their heads against their owner s legs, a chair or a table, scent glands on their head deposit a scented secretion as a warning to other cats that the object concerned is owned by them.
- A cat’s whiskers are possibly the most sensitive part of their bodies. A cat will awaken from the deepest sleep by the lightest touch on the whiskers.
